In this art tour, your guide will take you through the rooms of the Gallery showing and explaining to you how the Venetian school of art developed. The Gallery is housed inside three different old and historical Venetian buildings (the seat of a guild, a church and a monastery) which were assembled in order to create the Accademia Painting Galleries.
Your guide will tell you about the beginning of the Venetian art with paintings influenced by the Byzantine and Gothic styles with artists such as Paolo and Lorenzo Veneziano, then you'll discover the triumph of the Venetian early Renaissance with works by Giovanni Bellini, Cima da Conegliano and Carpaccio.
The art of the mature Renaissance are shown through such artists as Titian, Lorenzo Lotto, Tintoretto and Veronese and the XVII and XVIII century are also well represented with important paintings by Bernardo Strozzi, Tiepolo, Guardi, Longhi and Canaletto.
At the end of this tour you will understand why the Venetian school of art was, and continues to be, so famous all over the world.
